Bejoy Nambiar declared in 2011 December about making a Hindi movie that will be named as David. The complete comedy of gangster, as well as has been signed over Vikram in order to play a role here in the movie. They jointly worked before in the Mani Ratnam's movie Raavan & Raavanan, where Nambiar was the helping director. The movie will show its tracks of 3 people, called as David. The shooting was done in Goa, and the other stories shooting place was Mumbai & London and those was happened in different time. Three cinematographer were directed to shoot the related parts. Sanjeev Lamba of Reliance, the movie producer, saw that the movie has some changes and may be need to make on bilingual in two language, Hindi and Tamil, also with a 3rd Telegu version was dubbed. First it was informed that Shahrukh Khan is going to hire to be roped in for a character but later it seems not to be true.

Vivek Oberoi was also to be play with a small character. Anyway Oberoi liked to opt out of this project after realising that the movie could be in different speech, and the film team choosed Farhan Akhtar before of replacing him with Mukesh. In the month of January 2012, the producers signed Isha Sharvani and Tabu to play on the lead role here. Upto now reports received that Isha may be paired with opposite to Vikram.
